In “The Allegory of a Cave” the main idea express by Socrates to Glaucon was that most people settle for how life is and never question if it is the truth. Socrates gives Glaucon a scenario where he could understand what he meant. Men stripped of everything including the truth. When one of the men escapes he sees everything for what it really is not just what he assumed was the truth. After seeing this new world he then begins to question if this is an illusion or his beliefs before were real.
